What began as a flirtatious quip,

would soon be sealed in reality.

On a late day in 2015, Alexandra, ever the lover of water, was enticed by Guilherme when, in conversation, she found out Gui owned kayaks. They proceeded to make friendly, innocent plans to hang out and kayak with his cousin studying abroad from Brazil. 

​

The day materialized, kayaks were launched, and they were off.

Conversations meandered... all proving they have a lot

in common, similar interests, and indistinguishable values.

​

As with all things Gui, and his monotone witticisms,

he took these similarities and began frivolously sprinkling their conversations with the words: 

​

"I'm The One."

​

"What you don't know, Alex, is that I am The One."

"I already told you, I'm The One."

 

Gui's intermittent repetition was most certainly prompted and encouraged by Alexandra's irresistible glee — Encouraged by her charming laughter,

the comedian carried on.

​

Alexandra & Guilherme have been "hanging out" ever since.

​

Eight years later, after a picnic date

at 'their spot' by the lake in their favorite park;

 Gui got down on one knee and asked Alexandra

to be his "The One" forever.
